Founded in 1983, the German Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong (GCC) is one of the largest membership associations among the European national chambers with more than 400 corporate members today. It serves as a catalyst, promoter and facilitator of members’ interests in Hong Kong, Greater China and Germany. As such, the Chamber is also involved in trade and investment promotion between Hong Kong and Germany along with German Industry and Commerce (GIC), a member of the officially mandated AHK network, the German Consulate General, and the representative office of Germany Trade and Invest. GCC, in partnership with GIC, offers a wide range of services for its members, which include regular events and meetings, in order to keep them up-to-date on current developments and trends, and to provide a forum for members to network, discuss and exchange their views and knowledge. It also helps to facilitate, consult, offer marketing exposure and opportunities, and provide solutions for members, including in dealing with governmental administrative hurdles in Hong Kong, China, and Germany, and represents members through important international government and business committees. The chamber is a very important neutral source of information on the business environments and markets in Hong Kong, China and Germany for corporate decision-makers with head offices in Germany and Hong Kong. It produces informative publications and market research studies on the respective economies. Members comprise of German, Hong Kong and international companies with interest in doing business in Germany, or with German companies. In 2013, the chamber celebrated its 30th anniversary.
