The Indian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong, was established on 12 December 1952 by ten enthusiastic, pioneering Indian businessmen and has been serving the Indian business community for over five decades with distinction. The more important among the objectives of the Chamber, as outlined in the Memorandum of Association are : - To promote and protect the trade, commerce, shipping and manufacture of Hong Kong and South China; - To represent and express the views of Indian community on matters of commercial interest; - To promote, support or oppose legislative or other measures concerning trade, commerce, shipping and manufacture. The Chamber acts as an interface between the Hong Kong Indian business community and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.The Chamber is represented on a number of official and non-official consultative and coordinating bodies. The Chamber is routinely consulted by the Hong Kong Government on matters of importance in the areas of Trade, Commerce, Shipping and Manufacture. The Chamber constantly strives to strengthen the trade and economic relationship between Hong Kong, Mainland China and India. The Chamber is a founder-member of the Hong Kong Shippers' Council. The Chamber is a member of the Council of Hong Kong Indian Associations.
